18 months old and SO fun!

It is so hard to keep this blog updated because of everything else that goes on in our everyday life, but we have been having SO much fun!  Remi is hilarious; she does and says things that make us laugh ALL the time!!  She is learning how to do new things and has new words every day.  She is very curious (nosy!) about everything and everyone.  She is constantly pointing at things, even if she knows what they are, and saying, "What's that?"  She says hi to everyone we encounter when we are out and about, and if they don't respond she says it again, LOUDER!!
Some of her favorite things right now are the i*Pad, Bubb*le Guppies, and Ve*ggie Straws.  She doesn't need any help whatsoever to work the i*Pad.  She knows which apps she wants, picks them, scrolls through pages and pictures, and pushes the home button to start all over again.  When she hears music "susic" she likes, she says, "I dance."  And she does.  It's quite funny!   She also knows eyes, ears, nose, and mouth and is not afraid to poke your eyes out or stick her finger in your mouth.
The things she is saying right now are amazing to me.  When you tickle her, she says it tickles. She says "careful" when she is doing something dangerous, which happens quite frequently because she is not afraid of anything!  She will look at you through her hands and say, "I sees you."  Whenever she is trying to decide on something, like what app she wants, she will say, "Let's see." :)  She thinks lots of things are "prippy" or pretty.  And just today she has caught on to the concept that certain things are too big to fit into other things.  After me telling her many times that this or that is too big for the box she had, she finally tried something else and said it was "big" when it didn't fit either!
Remi is also very polite: she says "thank you" a lot!  If she hands YOU something, she will say it.  If you hand her something, most of the time she will also say it.  She also loves to say okay or "otay." The other day we were in the car and she was talking on her play cell phone.  Here was the conversation she had:
Hello?
Dada?
Hi!
Otay.
Bye.  (Cracked me up!)

Here are a few kind of recent pics.  It is really hard to get pictures now because Remi is constantly on the move!

So much fun!

For Remi: just a few pictures and some fun things that you are doing now, at 15 months...
You recognize Elmo and say "Melmo" whenever you see him.  Daddy bought this chair for you and you love to attack it!
 "Where's my peeps?"
You crawl in, under, or through anything you possibly can.  You found your baby bathtub under your crib the other day and pulled it out.  Then you spent all afternoon crawling in and out of it.  I also found you that same day under your crib with only your feet sticking out!
You also try to get into whatever you can, especially if you aren't supposed to!
You have discovered how comfy pillows can be.
You and Mommy supporting the Hoosiers...so excited for basketball season!
We played at the park one day with Daddy...
 ...and Rachael!
After watching the Olympics, Mommy is convinced you are ready for gymnastics!

Also:
  • You can tell us what these animals say: rooster, cow, dog, kitty.  You recognize them in pictures and make the noise when you see them.
  • You wave bye-bye when Mommy puts on her shoes and purse.
  • You say "lo" when our phones ring or a text comes through.  You also knock on a door and say "lo" when you want out.
  • You touch everything and say, "Is soft!"
  • You are forever bringing Mommy and Daddy books to look at with you, and read to you.
  • You love to rub your soft pajama shirts and hold onto them like a blankie.
  • You try to say "Nicole"  but you start with the "c" and it sounds very Russian or German!  (Nicole is Remi's awesome babysitter!)
  • You can also say shoe, tree, sock, turtle, baby, cheese, na-na (banana), kitty, fishy, Daisy (Nicole's dog), outside, ba-ba (sippy cup), peas, Cheerios, ball, and door.
You are doing so many fun things right now!  Mommy is so blessed to only be working half days and spending the rest of the day playing with you!!  Mommy and Daddy love you very much. :)

Let's party!

Happy birthday, Remi!  We had a wonderful time celebrating Remi's first birthday with our family and friends at church over the weekend.  We certainly couldn't have pulled it off without the planning, work, cakes, and photography of Shelby, and the decorating of Grace and Cooper!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  And thank you to all who came to show love to our big girl.  What a blessing to have so many people who love Remi as much as we do!
