Let's party!

Happy birthday, Remi!  We had a wonderful time celebrating Remi's first birthday with our family and friends at church over the weekend.  We certainly couldn't have pulled it off without the planning, work, cakes, and photography of Shelby, and the decorating of Grace and Cooper!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  And thank you to all who came to show love to our big girl.  What a blessing to have so many people who love Remi as much as we do!

Good times!!

12 months old!!

I can't believe it...it really happened!  Remi is officially one year old!  Everyone said the time would go so fast and I didn't believe it, but it was so true!  She has done so many new things in the past month, it's hard to keep track of it all!  It's so much fun to watch her try new things and be so happy when she accomplishes them.  She is pulling up and walking while holding onto the couch, table, chair, or whatever will support her.  She loves to let go and stand on her own for several seconds at a time before landing on her bottom.  She always looks to make sure we see her standing, and waits for us to clap and celebrate with her!  It's so cute!  She says "duck" and "stop" and "no, no, no" while shaking her head when I tell her no.  She says "woof, woof, woof" when she sees a picture of a dog.  When I say "good job" she claps, and when we say "hi" or "bye" she waves.  She signs "more" when she is eating.  She laughs when I blow my nose and then makes a sound like she is trying to blow her nose.  And she fake coughs and laughs when she hears other people doing these things!  She is trying new table foods every day and trying to get used to milk instead of formula.  Again, I just can't believe how much she has learned in these last few months.  Every day I think I couldn't possibly love her any more than I already do and then I fall in love with her all over again the next day!  Happy birthday, big girl!!  Mommy and Daddy love you so very much!!

Off looking for new adventures!

11 months old!

Remi has started doing so many new things in the past month!  She is such a big girl!  She waves bye-bye, although it's sometimes a delayed reaction, and she has 8 teeth! She is also now crawling and trying to pull herself up on everything that is at her eye level.  She is exploring and finding all kinds of new things...some things she shouldn't be touching, but she REALLY wants to!  Fortunately, she's pretty good about listening when we say no.  She has also picked up a new word: "stop."  She says it and I can't help but laugh; her little voice is so cute!  In fact, she said it this morning: as she was getting too close to the hot stove, I said, "Remi, stop" and she said it back to me!!  She learned it from the babysitter's son while he was telling the dog to stop.  Here is a video of her doing it...you'll hear Colby saying it first, and then Remi does.  So funny!

Remi loved her Easter basket full of veggies, a football, and flap book!
